Howard Finkel is a 37 year veteran of ocean shipping. He started in 1981 in New York City as an executive trainee, learning all phases of ocean transportation and then moved into outside sales. In his 36 years in the industry, Finkel has held positions in sales, pricing, marketing, operations and regulatory affairs.

Howard joined COSCO in 1995 as General Manager, Pricing and Marketing and was promoted several times to his current position as Executive Vice President, COSCO SHIPPING Lines, North America as well as V.P. of COSCO SHIPPING (Non Liner part of the business). His responsibilities include contract review, regulatory affairs, legal affairs, discussion agreements, cost control, PR, company spokesman and mergers and acquisitions.

He is a graduate of Queens College (CUNY) and lives in Verona New Jersey.
